During the 2008 season, over 70,000 Las Vegas Valley air conditioning units had their refrigerant charges balanced, at no charge to the Homeowners. Yes, refrigerant commonly referred to as “Freon” was added at no cost to Valley Residents. This was made possible because the power company paid local air conditioning companies to perform this work. Why, because when the refrigerant charge in your air conditioner is off by only 10%, your system losses 25% of its efficiency! So local residents who were not afraid of accepting a FREE offer, save from $100.00 up to $450.00 and the Valley saved over 50,000,000 watts of electricity. As of April 21, still nothing positive on when or if, the very successful program will start for 2009.
